Volume One, Chapter Fifteen: The Crown Prince Has a Girlfriend!
Yu Mo looked up.
A familiar golden mask adorned with intricate patterns.
Mu Shaozhou’s perfectly sculpted jaw lifted slightly, his prominent Adam’s apple exuding a sensual yet restrained allure.
His suit was immaculate, his long legs straight and elegant like slender bamboo.
A cold, proud, and powerful aura radiated from him, warning strangers to keep their distance.
His cool gaze was fixed on Yu Mo’s wrist, which was still held by Lin Xing.
A chilling glint flickered in his eyes.
Even someone as unruly and accustomed to powerful figures as Lin Xing felt his blood freeze under that piercing glare, as if bound by a spell, unable to move.
“Who are you?”
Lin Xing steadied himself, regaining his cocky composure.
Let go?
Heh!
He had finally met a woman who truly intrigued him—how could he possibly let go?
The light in Mu Shaozhou’s eyes grew sharper and colder, as threatening as the blade of an icy knife.
Suddenly, he raised his hand, gripping Lin Xing’s arm tightly.
Lin Xing, startled, instantly released Yu Mo and lashed out with a fierce chop aimed at Mu Shaozhou.
Mu Shaozhou didn’t dodge. He took the blow squarely on his chest but then swiftly lifted his leg and delivered a powerful kick to Lin Xing’s abdomen.
Lin Xing winced, stumbling back two steps.
Slowly, he raised his eyes to meet Mu Shaozhou’s, a frosty light flashing in his gaze.
Mu Shaozhou’s eyes, hidden beneath the mask, narrowed.
He reached out and drew Yu Mo to his side.
A soft gasp escaped her lips.
Mu Shaozhou’s eyes fell on her wrist.
A dark, purplish bruise stood out starkly against her pale skin.
His deep, narrow eyes seemed to freeze over as he looked at the face that bore a faint resemblance to his own.
Recalling something, a sharp glint flickered in his obsidian eyes.
His voice was calm, yet carried an undeniable authority.
“Stay away from her. Don’t let me see you near her again.”
Lin Xing stared at Mu Shaozhou.
After a long moment, his expression changed.
Hostility surged in his eyes as he looked at Mu Shaozhou.
He let out a cold laugh and spoke slowly.
“You’re Mu Shaozhou?”
Mu Shaozhou ignored him, pulling Yu Mo back toward the private room.
He left behind a single, indifferent word: “Leave.”
Lin Xing stood rooted to the spot.
To think he would encounter a member of the Mu family here in the city of magic.
Heh.
After a while, he turned and walked away.
Yu Mo followed Mu Shaozhou into the private room.
Everyone inside was stunned to see the young master holding a woman’s hand.
Even his assistant, Dai Ming, was taken aback.
Lately, he had clearly sensed that something was different about his boss.
He would often catch him at work, staring at his darkened phone screen with a faint smile.
This was the same boss who never let a woman come within three meters of him—yet here he was, holding a woman’s hand.
Mu Shaozhou led Yu Mo to his seat and spoke to Dai Ming.
“Go buy some ointment for bruises.”
The man who had been sitting beside him immediately got up to give Yu Mo a seat.
Just like that, Yu Mo found herself sitting inexplicably at the side of the young master.
Someone, emboldened by curiosity, dared to ask,
“Master Mu, this lady is...?”
All eyes in the room turned to Mu Shaozhou, waiting for his answer.
He swept a cool gaze over everyone before letting his eyes settle on Yu Mo’s striking features.
His thin lips curved slightly, his voice low and rich.
“A female friend.”
The few understated words echoed in the room.
There was a collective gasp.
When had the young master ever had a female friend?
A female friend—in other words, a girlfriend.
A girlfriend.
The young master has a girlfriend!
This explosive news immediately started spreading from the phones of everyone present.
The entire city was in an uproar, not only shocked by the revelation, but also desperately curious about the identity of the young master’s mysterious companion.
Yu Mo had no idea she had become the latest target of the city’s intense scrutiny.
She poured herself a glass of water and raised it to Mu Shaozhou.
“Master Mu, thank you for earlier.”
Though she wore only light makeup today, her bewitching eyes lent her delicate face an even more captivating charm.
Her lips, lush as the petals of a rare flower, glowed crimson as she continued,
“Thank you as well for the other night at the birthday banquet. This toast is for you.”
Mu Shaozhou’s gaze lingered on her vivid lips.
Perhaps recalling their sweetness, he pressed his own lips together.
His pale, elegant fingers picked up his glass and gently clinked it against hers.
Everyone in the private room was stunned.
When they had tried to toast the young master earlier, they had all been ignored.
Indeed, he treated his girlfriend differently from anyone else.
Dai Ming soon returned with the medicine.
Mu Shaozhou took the ointment, carefully lifted Yu Mo’s sleeve, and the bruise reappeared before his eyes.
A flicker of pain flashed in his otherwise impassive gaze as he gently applied the ointment to her skin.
His movements were careful, as though she were a fragile porcelain doll, fearful of causing her the slightest harm.
The room was utterly silent.
Everyone’s attention was fixed on the pair.
Yu Mo felt a little awkward, but seeing Mu Shaozhou’s calm and composed expression, she managed to relax.
Five minutes later, Mu Shaozhou finished and gently smoothed down her sleeve.
Yu Mo finally let out a long breath.
“Thank you.”
Not wanting to linger, she stood to leave.
Mu Shaozhou rose with her, his voice warm.
“I’ll walk you out.”
Yu Mo wanted to refuse, but Mu Shaozhou had already taken her hand.
She still felt a certain awe of this young master and dared not offend him.
He held her hand all the way to the door.
Yu Mo turned and gently withdrew her hand from his.
“Mu Shaozhou, you should go back.”
She returned to her car and sent a message to her pretty boy.
Yu Mo: [Darling, I’m coming to see you now. Are you free?]
The reply came quickly.
Pretty Boy: [I’m free. I’ll be home waiting for you!]
A sticker of a little monkey offering a heart accompanied the message.
Yu Mo stared at the sticker and burst out laughing.
Fastening her seatbelt, she drove away.
Back in the private room, Mu Shaozhou put away his phone, the smile fading from his eyes and lips.
He said to everyone,
“That’s all for today.”
With that, he turned and left.
Dai Ming and the bodyguards hurried after him.
Yu Mo arrived at the pretty boy’s apartment.
The moment she stepped inside, she was swept into his arms.
She looked up—he had just showered, and the fresh scent of his body wash lingered on him.
She could feel the heat radiating from his body.
Pushing him away, she headed straight for the bathroom.
When she emerged again, she was immediately lifted and tossed onto the bed.
The man’s passionate kisses rained down on her.
Yu Mo wrapped her arms around his waist, trying her best to respond.
Her eyes fell on his chest, where a large red mark had blossomed.
Abruptly, she withdrew her hand, her voice trembling.
“Did I do that?”
Remorse clouded her eyes—she had been far too rough.
She was unforgivable!
She leaned in, her red lips gently kissing the mark.
The man’s eyes darkened with desire, his sturdy frame trembling as he seized her wrists and pinned them above her head.
His eyes burned with longing.
He lowered his head, pressing tender kisses upon her.
—
Evening.
Yu Mo slowly awoke from her slumber, rubbing her aching waist.
The man behind her tightened his arm around her.
His alluring, husky voice whispered in her ear,
“Tell me where it hurts, and I’ll massage it for you.”
Yu Mo removed his hand, a little exasperated.
Lust truly clouds judgment.
She would surely be seduced to death by this sly fox of a man one day.
“If you rub my back, I’ll never get any sleep tonight!”
The man behind her chuckled softly, his laughter rumbling in his chest.
He pressed a gentle kiss to her ear and whispered,
“Yu Mo, will you be my girlfriend?”
