As Ye Da kept fueling the fire beneath the honeycomb, countless combat bees erupted from the black-and-yellow hive of the poison-sting bees!

They had sensed their nest was under attack, yet this foe was nothing like the enemies they had faced before.

The poison-sting bees unleashed their venom needles in a frantic barrage against the thick smoke.

But what damage could those needles inflict on a pile of campfire embers?

At best, they would merely add a touch more fuel!

And yet...

Because the poison-sting bees flew too close to the smoke, they were all smoked out, tumbling helplessly into the flames where they burned alive.

Outside the bonfire, however, hung an entire swarm of the relentless creatures.

They seemed to sense the inferno’s heat and dared not approach, instead circling endlessly at the hive’s outer edge.

Sure enough!

Hidden far behind a massive boulder, Ye Da watched the scene intently.

Seeing that the dense smoke had failed to kill every last one of the bees, he realized these creatures were nothing like their Earthly counterparts.

Their bodies and fire resistance were far greater—true extraterrestrial horrors!

“Fortunately, I was ready,” Ye Da murmured, reaching into his pack to retrieve the hallucinogenic pouch of the jumping mushroom.

Yet he could not simply walk up to the fire to add it. One reason was the ever-present threat of bee attacks; the other was the very real danger that the smoke itself might poison him. After all, he had witnessed with his own eyes how swiftly the toxin had felled a wolf.

Thus Ye Da decided to hurl the pouch from a distance!

But the gap between him and the flames was simply too wide. Even at Black Iron Rank Three, he doubted he could launch a chicken-egg-sized object that far.

Some method was needed—perhaps a small catapult… Wait!

What about stone arrows?

He could condense a specially weighted arrow, tuck the pouch inside its massive tip, and fire!

The idea grew more appealing with every passing moment.

So…

Ye Da slowly began to weave a special stone arrow.

The arrowhead was thick and bulbous, resembling a giant garlic bulb, while the shaft itself remained slender—save for that monstrous, oversized tip.

It looked faintly like Cupid’s legendary love arrow.

Its speed and striking power would surely be pitiful.

Yet Ye Da cared not. The campfire was still. All that mattered was getting the pouch safely into the heart of the flames!

“Shoo!”

With a flick of his energy bow, Ye Da sent the stone arrow streaking forth.

The arrow wobbled like a drunken fighter pilot’s jet, swaying comically through the air.

In the end…

It failed to reach the bonfire as intended and instead dropped only three or four meters away.

Ye Da’s brows furrowed. Had the arrowhead grown too heavy?

Or perhaps the swaying liquid inside the pouch had unbalance<|eos|>
