Chapter 90: I Do
Standing before Wen Nan was a figure with long golden hair that cascaded down her shoulders like silk, moving as if stirred by an unseen wind. The form-fitting armor accentuated her slender waist and full hips, further highlighting a perfect figure and graceful lines. Even from behind, she was breathtaking.
Wen Nan’s gaze shifted from this stunning figure to the control sigil glowing in his palm. The circular sigil, etched with intricate patterns, now shone with a golden light, pulsing with a gentle rhythm.
In his mind, the system’s prompt was different from the previous two times he had activated a control sigil. Whether it was the first time with Qiqi’s level-1 silver sigil, or the second with Yu Shujun’s level-3 gold one, each had been triggered after he reached a certain favorability threshold with the character; the system would then ask if he wished to activate the sigil and make the character his exclusive companion.
But this time, the system asked: “Do you wish to bind an account?”
On top of the golden sigil already in his palm, he was being prompted to bind an additional account. It felt like setting up a sub-account under an existing phone plan or credit card—splitting off a shared account from the main one.
So...
This wasn’t a sudden summoning of some new overpowered character.
This was...
“Yu Shujun?” Wen Nan called softly.
The “armored warrior” who had been walking slowly toward the young married woman paused at his voice. She did not turn around, but tilted her head slightly, revealing a profile so exquisite it seemed sculpted from marble.
Seeing that cold, expressionless face, Wen Nan smiled. “So it really is you? Your main account?”
He shook his head, inwardly clicking his tongue in admiration. That armor, that presence—it must have cost a fortune in gold coins. Clearly a high-level player’s account. Yet, even on the main account, she still chose a female avatar?
Truly, this brother was consistent inside and out.
While Wen Nan’s mind wandered, Yu Shujun had already approached Li Shuyi, lifting the other woman’s chin with the tip of her sword, forcing her to meet her gaze.
“Will you end it yourself, or shall I do it?” Yu Shujun’s voice was icy.
Only now did Wen Nan have the chance to take in the scene before him—
Yu Shujun—or rather, the cross-dressing master Jun Wuming in armor—stood straight at the bedside, gripping a longsword, its point aimed directly at Li Shuyi’s throat.
Meanwhile, Li Shuyi, who had reverted to her ordinary female form, was curled up on the floor, her tattered nightdress barely covering her, stained with blood, her whole body trembling violently.
Scattered around her on the floor were sharp, glinting claws—severed at the base, their milky white roots slick with blood and flesh. They looked less like nails and more like severed human limbs, some with exposed muscles still twitching.
Wen Nan’s heart tightened at the sight.
So, in those few blinks just now, the clashing sounds he’d heard had been Yu Shujun hacking off all the “spikes” from the berserk “hedgehog” with her sword?
Li Shuyi hadn’t reverted to her original form on her own. She’d been forcibly “reshaped” by Yu Shujun using sheer physical means.
“Die—now—”
Li Shuyi clearly hadn’t heeded Yu Shujun’s warning. Summoning the last of her strength, she lunged, trying to drive a piece of metal clutched in her palm into Yu Shujun’s chest.
But before her hand could reach its target, the object vanished from her grasp.
The very next moment, it pierced Li Shuyi’s own body.
A silver bullet studded with diamonds stabbed straight into her heart. Li Shuyi lowered her head, staring in disbelief at her chest. Only when fresh blood began to well from the wound did she seem to awaken, the corners of her lips curling into a bitter smile.
Her knees buckled, and she fell forward like a puppet with its strings cut, collapsing against Yu Shujun’s chest.
Yu Shujun sheathed her sword, raised her other arm, and gently caught Li Shuyi, whispering in her ear:
“Let go of your obsessions, Shushu.
“Your timeline ended long ago.
“Stop tormenting yourself here.
“Sleep now—never wake again…”
Those gentle words fell into Li Shuyi’s ears like a soothing lullaby, erasing the bitterness from her face and finally coaxing her eyes closed.
Wen Nan crouched in the corner, silently watching the scene, momentarily moved.
But soon enough, his thoughts drifted off again. This little cross-dressing fellow Yu Shujun really was skilled at handling his harem—he’d make a fine chief eunuch.

The system prompt in his mind snapped Wen Nan out of his reverie. He quickly pulled up Li Shuyi’s profile. The main personality’s page had been completely erased; in this map, only the sub-personality, who had chosen to start a new life, remained.
While Wen Nan pondered this, Yu Shujun gently placed the slumbering Li Shuyi back on the bed.
She carefully removed Li Shuyi’s torn clothes and covered her cold body with a thin blanket, performing the act with the solemnity of a mortician.
Afterward, Yu Shujun lifted her hand—
Snap.
With a crisp snap of her fingers, all traces of blood vanished from the room.
She sheathed her sword and headed for the door.
Wen Nan, leaning against the wall, asked as she passed, “Are you leaving right away?”
Yu Shujun paused and turned to look at him. “The updated Li Shuyi will wake soon. If you wish to continue your pursuit, I think I should take my leave in advance, Master.”
They stood close together now. Wen Nan could see the other’s long lashes and, within those deep blue eyes that resembled the sea, his own reflection.
It was the first time he’d studied Yu Shujun’s main avatar up close.
Ever since maxing out his charm stat, Wen Nan always heard from his targets that he was the embodiment of their ideals. Back then, he hadn’t understood. But seeing Yu Shujun’s main account’s face now, he finally grasped what it meant for every feature to strike at the heart of his own aesthetic.
If this game allowed for custom avatars, and Wen Nan played a female character, he would have modeled her exactly after Yu Shujun’s main account.
Of course, Yu Shujun had no idea what Wen Nan was thinking, but the focused gaze made her inexplicably feel her cheeks flush and her heartbeat quicken.
Unaccustomed to such feelings, Yu Shujun lowered her eyes and tried to mask her unease with a cold voice:
“As for the binding request from the system, if you don’t want it, you can just decline.”
Wen Nan, momentarily distracted, replied without thinking, “I’m willing.”
