Putting Lingling’s message away, Wen Nan pressed the elevator button.

As the elevator doors slid shut, Yu Shujun cast a cold glance at Wen Nan. Seeing the smile on his face, as if he were in an excellent mood, she couldn’t help but speak. “Have you always played tricks like this, deceiving young girls’ feelings?”

Yu Shujun could hardly believe that the act just now wasn’t only Wen Nan’s improvisation but that he had pulled her into his performance as well.

She had been standing aside, content to be a spectator. But then, a few lines from Wen Nan flashed into her mind, telling her precisely when and what to say. Yu Shujun had no interest in playing such games to fool a girl, but she had no choice; the golden mastery sigil on his palm left her no room for refusal.

“How can things in a game be considered deception?” Wen Nan shrugged, speaking brazenly. “As Uncle Jiu, who watched Lingling grow up, I think I do have genuine feelings for her. So I chose this way to express them. What’s wrong with that?”

Yu Shujun’s eyelids drooped slightly. “Twisted logic.”

Wen Nan replied nonchalantly, “Think whatever you like.”

He couldn’t help but add, thinking of the scene just now, “Classmate Yu, your acting is terrible. You’ll need more practice, so you don’t give us away next time.”

Yu Shujun looked at him in disbelief. “You’re planning on a next time?”

“Who can say,” Wen Nan spread his hands. “If the scenario forces my hand, I’ll have to rely on my acting skills.”

Yu Shujun was at a loss for words, then remembered something else. “Where did you get the gifts?”

Wen Nan gestured vaguely to his inventory. “You’ll never know how much useless junk I’ve won from the roulette draws.”

“The card and those paper cranes, too? Did you get those from the draw?” Yu Shujun doubted the roulette would ever yield such things.

“No,” Wen Nan replied. “I wrote the card just now, and I folded the paper cranes after reading Lingling’s background introduction.”

With his agility at 230, he had more than enough speed to do all that while they were arguing.

Yu Shujun’s gaze became even more inscrutable. “So, right after reading Lingling’s background, you were already plotting this whole charade?”

“Yes.” Wen Nan nodded, admitting it without shame.

Yu Shujun fell silent.

Just moments ago, when she saw Wen Nan being pulled back and forth by two girls, she had been quietly gloating, thinking she’d finally see him stumble. She hadn’t expected that from the very start, he had been orchestrating everything with his own cunning.

...

Twenty minutes later, Wen Nan returned to his rented apartment.

It was a studio: one bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom—not large.

Sun Yi was sitting on the sofa, her backpack tossed carelessly on the floor, a university acceptance letter lying on the table with a bottle of red wine pressed on top.

Annoyed by her torn shirt and shorts, she had simply taken off both, leaving them to the side.

When Wen Nan reached the door, she was touching up her makeup. Hearing the electronic lock’s sound, Sun Yi quickly stuffed her powder into her bag, jumped up from the sofa, and rushed over to greet him.

As soon as the door opened, he was met by a scantily-clad girl throwing herself into his arms.

Wen Nan froze, her arms locking around him, but he didn’t return the embrace; he simply patted her arm lightly and said, “I bought you some clothes. Try them on first?”

Sensing his lack of enthusiasm, Sun Yi let go and retreated a half step, a little embarrassed.

Wen Nan stuffed the clothes into her arms. “I wasn’t sure about your size or style, so I picked out two sets at random. Try them on and see if they fit.”

Taking the bag, Sun Yi’s smile returned. “Anything you give me will fit.”

She pulled out the clothes—two rather conservative T-shirts and long pants.

They didn’t match the mood of the evening at all, Sun Yi thought, so in the end, she only put on a T-shirt, leaving her long, slender legs bare.

Wen Nan walked to the sofa and immediately noticed the acceptance letter in pride of place on the coffee table. Picking it up, he smiled at her. “This is wonderful news! Congratulations!”

Sun Yi came over, sitting cross-legged on the sofa, her manner bold. She picked up her bottle of red wine and cocked her head at him. “Uncle, a celebration isn’t complete with just words. Let’s have a drink!”

Wen Nan glanced at the time—6:45 p.m. There was a housewife next door, waiting for him with a cake...

“Just one glass?” Wen Nan smiled. “I have to go out again soon.”

Sun Yi’s brows furrowed. “Going out? Where to?”

“Work,” Wen Nan replied ambiguously.

“Working this late?” Sun Yi couldn’t understand the life of a white-collar worker. “Is your boss a devil?”

Wen Nan chuckled. “Something like that.”

He glanced at the red wine. “Have you eaten dinner?”

“No.” Sun Yi rubbed her belly, lips pouting. She had rushed across the city as soon as she received her acceptance letter, eager to redeem his promise. Though another girl’s meddling had dampened her spirits, the end result satisfied her—Ye Jiu had not only chosen her firmly but, for the first time, allowed her into his home.

“Can I eat here?”

She tilted her face up, asking.

“Sure,” Wen Nan said, heading to the kitchen and opening the fridge. “Let me see… just pork dumplings. Is that okay?”

Sun Yi nodded eagerly. “Perfect!”

She’d been allowed to stay for dinner—a significant step forward!

Next, would he let her stay the night?

Wen Nan paused, ladling out the boiling dumplings as the system notification sounded.

Just sharing a plate of frozen dumplings could make her this happy?

He set the steaming dumplings on the table. Sun Yi couldn’t wait—she grabbed her chopsticks and bit into one, hissing as she blew on it, glancing at him with a smile. Only then did she ask, “Aren’t you eating?”

Wen Nan shook his head. “I have to go out soon.”

Hearing this, Sun Yi put down her chopsticks, losing her appetite.

“What’s wrong?” Wen Nan asked.

Sun Yi ventured carefully, “Can I… stay here tonight?”

Wen Nan hesitated.

“I can sleep on the sofa—I won’t steal your bed,” she added quickly.

After a moment’s thought, Wen Nan nodded. “Alright, but you’ll have to leave early tomorrow morning.”

Wen Nan: ?

Just staying over could make her this happy?

“Uncle, you’re the best!” Sun Yi flung herself onto Wen Nan, hugging him tightly.

He could only pat her arm in exasperation. “Eat first. I still have a question for you.”

Sun Yi retreated from his embrace.

Wen Nan considered for a moment, then went straight to the point, “Do you know where your G-spot is?”

Sun Yi froze, then nodded, but lowered her head, fiddling with her T-shirt hem, not saying more.

Wen Nan waited patiently.

She braced herself on one arm behind her, arching her upper body back while shifting her hips closer to him.

Then she lifted one leg, guiding Wen Nan’s hand to a spot along her thigh.

There, a small tattoo—a single character: “Jiu.”

Wen Nan’s fingertips gently traced the tattoo, and Sun Yi whispered in his ear, “You… you’re my spot.”
