Chapter 2: The Beautiful Sisters
The woman who appeared at the doorway had an oval face and features of remarkable beauty. Unlike Jiang Meijia, however, her every movement exuded an enchanting allure rather than an air of imperious aloofness.
"Big brother, are you the one here for the blind date?"
Bai Qingxue took out her phone and checked the chat history to confirm Lu Fei’s identity.
Lu Fei glanced at her—she was clearly only eighteen, yet her profile claimed she was twenty-seven. City folk were indeed cunning.
Still, Bai Qingxue’s looks and figure were flawless. If she truly fancied him, he wouldn’t mind accepting her—when it came to wives, even Han Xin couldn’t have too many soldiers.
He replied, "Yes, it’s me. You’re so young, and yet you’re out here for a blind date as well?"
"Young people need love too. But, big brother, you don’t look a day over forty—are you sure you want to date me?"
She had stated in her profile that she was looking for someone twenty years her senior. Someone older meant maturity, likely some savings, and a sense of pride that kept them from making a public scene.
"Whether or not we date, we’ll find out as we go along."
"Alright, then let’s go grab something to eat first."
After a night battling with Jiang Meijia, Lu Fei was indeed hungry. He rubbed his stomach and agreed to Bai Qingxue’s suggestion.
So, the two of them left the hotel. They hadn’t walked far when four burly men suddenly rushed out.
"Kid, are you the one dating my sister?" The leader, a beefy man with a face full of scars, glared at Lu Fei.
Lu Fei, puzzled, turned to Bai Qingxue and asked, "Are these your brothers?"
Bai Qingxue nodded nervously. This was her first time doing something like this; all four men were from the video production company. Their method was to lure gullible men, then directly demand money.
As soon as Lu Fei handed over the cash, she would continue seeing him until his wallet was drained dry.
Bai Qingxue desperately needed money and had no choice but to go through with it.
"Listen, kid, the four of us are all her biological brothers! We have the right to know who she’s dating!" The burly man was intimidating.
Lu Fei chuckled. "You guys hardly look related."
"Cut the crap. If you want to date my sister, pay five thousand as a guarantee!"
"Big brother, just give them the five thousand. I really like you and want something serious with you," Bai Qingxue pleaded pitifully.
Part of it was an act, but she was genuinely afraid of those brutes. They worked for Yin Tiancheng, the most feared boss in Bianjing. If she didn’t meet her quota, they’d make her suffer.
Besides, five thousand wasn’t much. With her looks, plenty of men were lining up for a chance.
Lu Fei’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Five thousand? Who are you—Chang’e descended from the moon, or Xishi reborn?"
"Watch your mouth, kid! You dress all high and mighty, don’t tell me you can’t spare five thousand?" the burly man sneered.
"High and mighty? You look more like a pack of dogs to me."
"You bastard! Did you just call us dogs? You’re dead meat!"
The leader roared and swung his huge fist at Lu Fei’s face.
In a flash, Lu Fei’s eyes sharpened, and he struck back with a punch.
With a sharp crack, the burly man was sent flying, his arm shattering with a sickening crunch as he crashed to the ground, howling in agony like a slaughtered pig.
"How dare you lay a hand on my big brother!" the remaining three erupted in fury.
Before they could react, Lu Fei moved first.
A few flicks of his fingertips sent streaks of white light darting out.
Thud, thud, thud!
All three fell to the ground. Outwardly, they seemed unharmed, but inside, their organs felt as though they were being torn apart by a thousand blades.
Their screams echoed down the deserted morning street.
Passersby who recognized the four men looked on in shock.
"Aren’t those Yin Tiancheng’s men? How could they be defeated by a youngster?"
"That kid is in big trouble for taking on Yin Tiancheng’s people."
Someone mustered the courage to warn Lu Fei, "Young man, these are not people you want to cross. You’d better get out of Bianjing while you still can."
Yin Tiancheng had once been a renowned doctor; after curing a powerful figure in Bianjing, he rose to prominence and now controlled nearly every industry in the city, including many shady ones. Just the mention of his name sent a chill through anyone’s heart.
Lu Fei shrugged and turned to Bai Qingxue. "So this was all a setup?"
Bai Qingxue was terrified. "Big brother… this is my first time. I just really needed the money… I had no other choice…"
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she spoke.
"Spare me the excuses. If everyone who needed money pulled stunts like this, the world would be chaos."
Lu Fei scoffed at her justification.
"But if everyone experienced what my family is going through, wouldn't the world be chaos anyway? My little sister is sick. If I don’t get her the treatment money, she’ll die. She’s only fifteen!"
Bai Qingxue broke down, sobbing.
She had her pride, but for her sister’s sake, she had been forced to take degrading ads and deal with all sorts of men.
Hearing it was for her sister’s illness, Lu Fei’s eyes flickered. As a healer at heart, he couldn’t bear to see the innocent suffer, regardless of the sister’s actions.
"Take me to see your sister."
Bai Qingxue hesitated, then replied, "Alright, but please don't tell her what I did…"
"Enough talk, take me there now!"
Under Lu Fei’s firm command, Bai Qingxue led him to a slum in the city.
She’d rented a room there for five hundred a month. The room was bare, not a single decent piece of furniture. On the bed lay a pale, delicate girl, fast asleep.
Seeing her sister’s condition, Bai Qingxue couldn’t stop her tears.
Lu Fei’s brows furrowed. The girl possessed a rare “Icy Veins” constitution—perfect for aiding his blazing Rebirth technique.
…
Meanwhile, the four thugs injured by Lu Fei were in the hospital. Word quickly reached Yin Tiancheng, who came to see them in person.
Seeing their miserable state, Yin Tiancheng’s heart sank. "Where is the man who did this to you?"
The four, on the verge of tears, realized Yin Tiancheng was about to avenge them personally.
Yin Tiancheng was now the CEO of dozens of companies worth billions; he rarely concerned himself with minor affairs.
"Looks like the boss is making an example out of someone this time."
"The boss has been quiet too long—now any stray cat or dog dares to cause trouble."
"That kid is in for it this time!"
Those nearby exchanged anxious glances, feeling a sudden pang of pity for Lu Fei.
"After he beat us, he went to Bai Qingxue’s house with her!" the wounded men gritted out.
"Lead the way! Gather the brothers, we’re all going to Bai Qingxue’s place!" Yin Tiancheng commanded.
More than a hundred men in suits climbed into black sedans, forming a long convoy as they headed straight for Lu Fei’s location.
