"The Guardian has been sealed? That's impossible. And golden equipment as a reward?" While Lu Yi was overjoyed, the Whirlwind Squad fell into a different kind of silence. After a long pause, Yang Tonghua finally spoke up.

"Exactly. We fought so hard—who could possibly have the ability to seal the Guardian?" Wang Ge’s face was filled with indignation.

"No one could seal the Guardian by strength alone. Maybe someone used a special item, or perhaps something unique to this world," Deng Yuqi, though skeptical, tried to analyze the situation rationally.

Ge Wendong paced back and forth with a gloomy expression. "You mean Lu Yi? No, it can’t be some special item. If it was, there would be no need to make such a fuss or announce special rewards."

"If it wasn’t Lu Yi, then who was it?" Yang Tonghua asked, growing impatient.

Ge Wendong shot him a glare. "I said it’s not a special item. It must be that Lu Yi discovered some special information—only then could he find the opportunity to seal the Guardian."

"Maybe the Guardian was weakened after using that skill, giving others a chance," Wang Ge pondered out loud. "Otherwise, I really can’t imagine how anyone could seal a Guardian of that strength and survive."

Everyone nodded. After all, the message in their minds was clear: a reward would be given to the person, and if they were dead, that wouldn’t matter.

Ge Wendong suddenly chuckled, drawing confused looks from the others.

"Boss, did you figure out the key to this?" Yang Tonghua asked.

Ge Wendong looked at his teammates. "Not exactly, but I think I know why that person sealed the Guardian."

"Well, it’s sealed—what’s the point in wondering why?" Yang Tonghua wiped his twin-bladed axe as he spoke.

Deng Yuqi’s eyes lit up with understanding. "Captain means that sealing the Guardian is too big a deal to be done on a whim. Think about it—the introduction said the Guardian can’t be sealed. If you were in the same situation, would you waste a rare sealing item knowing it wouldn’t work?"

Yang Tonghua and Wang Ge exchanged glances and shook their heads.

Deng Yuqi continued, "But that person did it, which means he must have had some information or realized there would be great benefits."

Ge Wendong laughed again, then said, "Exactly. The benefit is the one behind that voice. Clearly, we’re being watched—if we perform well, we’re rewarded."

"Damn it, if it weren’t for that guy, the reward would’ve been ours," Yang Tonghua punched a nearby tree in frustration.

"It doesn’t matter," Ge Wendong replied with a sly smile. "If he kept it quiet and made a silent profit, so be it. But now that the announcer has broadcast it everywhere, it’s obvious they want us to act in a similar way. If that guy is smart, he’ll realize the next Guardian will be even tougher. Now that he’s tasted the reward, he won’t let potential profits slip away."

A shadowy grin formed on Ge Wendong’s face. "His previous actions were driven by profit. If he wants to keep sealing Guardians, he’ll need to recruit people. Since we’re all scattered, his only chance to find help is during the upcoming gathering."

Wang Ge’s eyes lit up. "Right, if he wants help, he’ll reveal himself. That’s how we’ll identify him!"

"Exactly! He might even ask us to help," Yang Tonghua shouted excitedly.

"Help him? Not a chance," Ge Wendong said darkly. "We already lost enough this mission. Why should we work for someone else? Are we so rich we can afford that?"

His expression turned fierce as he stretched out his hand. "I want to pry open his mouth and find out how to get the reward. And I want all of it. Do those ragtag teams compare to us?"

"That’s right!" Wang Ge and Yang Tonghua roared in unison. "If those nobodies could do it, our squad can do it better. The rewards should be ours!"

Ge Wendong let out a sinister laugh. "Go, call Wang Xun back. We’ll soon be meeting that guy."

Clatter—the long blade fragments suddenly shattered into dust. Jade Toad snapped out of her trance, looking at the blade fragments with a sheepish expression.

She turned around, head lowered, nervously twisting her clothes. "Um, good man, I broke that thing..."

Lu Yi laughed. "It’s fine, it’s fine. Better used than wasted."

"Good man, you’re not mad at me?" Jade Toad looked up at him, her head tilted.

"Of course not," Lu Yi replied, soothing her.

Hearing his reassurance, Jade Toad immediately became lively again. "Really? You’re so kind!"

Lu Yi was about to say more when a voice echoed in his mind, "Reward distribution complete. A spatial gate will now be opened for you."

Lu Yi knew this wasn’t the time for further conversation. "Shen Yixue, Jade Toad, let’s form a temporary squad for now."

The team was quickly assembled, and at the same time, a square portal of light appeared beside them. Jade Toad gazed at it with curiosity, while Shen Yixue watched Lu Yi intently.

Lu Yi took a deep breath. He knew the news of someone sealing a Guardian had likely reached all the challengers. Anyone with similar ambitions would already be speculating. There was no way to stay hidden for long.

Still, with his team formed, he had to think of their interests.

"When we meet the others, keep a low profile," he told Shen Yixue, who nodded in agreement.

"Good man, what does that mean?" Jade Toad asked.

Lu Yi considered his words. "It means, if you find food, don’t show it or tell anyone—otherwise, they’ll try to take it from you."

Jade Toad immediately hugged her food protectively and nodded earnestly. "Good man, I understand."

Lu Yi squinted, exasperated. "Jade Toad, you can call me Lu Yi, or Captain. No need to call me ‘good man’ all the time."

Jade Toad nodded, "Okay, good man, I got it."

"Black Phosphor Sauce: Streamer, can you really command such a silly girl?"

"Sweetheart Yiyi: I doubt it too. The streamer’s reactions are so quick, but Jade Toad is so slow—they’re a total mismatch."

The trio quickly stepped through the portal. After walking down a corridor shimmering with rainbow light for a while, they came to an arched doorway. A translucent barrier separated them from the other side, where several indistinct figures were already visible.
