Chapter 87: The Demon Lord’s Third Temptation (Fourth Update
“Sun Yu?”
“No, you’re Imortal, aren’t you?”
As Chu Cheng entered the tent, he sensed something was amiss. Not only was there a magical barrier isolating the tent from the outside world, but the aura surrounding Sun Yu was also unnatural.
Given the current enmity between him and Sun Yu, and Sun Yu’s disposition, it was impossible for him to stand there so calmly and converse with Chu Cheng.
His appearance was also odd—his face stiff, resembling a puppet.
Sun Yu’s expression didn’t change in response to Chu Cheng’s suspicion, but his tone was unnaturally calm, at odds with his rigid face:
“You humans have an intriguing saying: ‘Victory crowns the king, defeat brings disgrace.’ This round, you have won.”
With that, he raised his hand and summoned a purple treasure chest, saying:
“According to the rules within the Chaos Domain, the victor may claim the spoils of the defeated. This is your reward for defeating me.”
He tossed the chest, and Chu Cheng, though wary, instinctively caught it.
“By the way, the previous treasure chest is included as well.”
Chu Cheng glanced at the ornate chest radiating violet light in his hand, snorted coldly, and said bluntly:
“Do you expect me to trust you?”
He tossed the chest aside, turning to leave without hesitation.
But as he spun around, he was startled to find Sun Yu blocking the entrance. Looking back, he saw the previous Sun Yu’s figure fading away.
“So there really is something wrong here.”
His expression darkened further.
“What now? Are you planning to use force?”
“Of course not. Perhaps we could make a proper trade. I’ll offer you a treasure in exchange for you escorting me out of this domain.”
“Sorry, I’m not interested—”
He didn’t finish the word “interested,” as the dazzling orange light before him silenced him.

Eye of Insight (Legendary/Orange): A magical gemstone of tremendous power, imbued with unimaginable energy.
With considerable difficulty, Chu Cheng tore his gaze from the two legendary items. He looked up, his expression complex, as Sun Yu stepped closer and spoke in a deep voice:
“Escort my will safely out of this domain, and you may choose any one of these three treasures.”
“I see great promise in you, which is why I offer you this opportunity. If you decline, it will go to someone else.”
Chu Cheng
He was clear-headed, but his eyes could not help but return to the panel before him.
The legendary gemstone was impressive, though its properties remained hidden until cut. But the attributes of those two legendary items were truly outrageous.
The Omnipotence Ring was merely a standard orange-grade stat item, but the Blade of the Doomsday Sentinel was a legendary weapon with the ancient suffix and a heroic legacy attached.
Comparing red and purple epic items, which only ranged up to pale purple or deep purple, the orange equipment introduced two new tiers:
Pale orange, orange, deep orange, ancient and primordial suffixes.
The first three are standard levels, the latter two are superior tiers, most of which can be further upgraded—two or three ranks at least, sometimes four or five.
The base stats were already astonishing; after upgrading, they would become even more monstrous.
“Damn!”
“I want it so badly!”
No matter how firm Chu Cheng’s resolve, faced with the properties of these legendary orange items, his determination melted like snow beneath the sun.
A fierce internal struggle raged, his expression changing wildly.
Imortal waited patiently, expressionless, confident that no one could resist such temptation.
Chu Cheng couldn’t resist.
He truly couldn’t.
Legendary equipment, with these attributes—especially with the ancient suffix and powerful heroic legacy—how could he possibly refuse?
“How do I take you out of this domain?”
For the first time, Sun Yu’s rigid face twisted into a faint smile, and Imortal’s voice sounded from his lips:
“It’s simple. A fragment of my will will attach itself to you. You will leave this domain, and once you reach another, I will depart on my own.”
“How will I receive what you promised?”
“Once I leave this domain, I will give you an item. With it, you can teleport directly to one of my former palaces. The token I give will ensure the guards there do not hinder you.”
“How can I trust this is real?”
“By the name of Asmodeus, Supreme Lord of the Wind of Hell, I swear: I will not break my word!”
Chu Cheng raised an eyebrow; this seemed sincere.
Asmodeus—his name was renowned. Even before crossing over, Chu Cheng had heard of him, the legendary Lord of the Nine Hells. In the new era, the Chaos Domain no longer had nine layers of hell, but there was the Wind of Hell.
Among the seven great Calamity Winds, the Wind of Hell was the former Nine Hells.
And its supreme ruler was Asmodeus, an unfathomable god-demon.
To swear by the Lord of Hell was the highest oath imaginable—never to be broken.
Still, Chu Cheng remained skeptical.
Yet he did not expose the deception, choosing instead to form a contract with Imortal.
He simply could not resist the allure of legendary equipment.
Though the contract was surely flawed, the orange gear was absolutely genuine.
